A training session is upcoming for all guardians who care for adults in Ohio, including Scioto County. The training is mandatory and is in response to changes at the state level in regards to additional training, monitoring, and background checks as minimum requirements for guardians.
Local training will be Thursday, Dec. 17, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Shawnee Family Health Center, 901 Washington St., Portsmouth. Registration for this training closes Friday, Dec. 4, and can be submitted online at www.judicialecademy.ohio.gov or by mail or fax using the attached form. This is the only local training to be offered this year, and, again, it is mandatory for all guardians per legislation passed in March. The training sessions are free.
