Five Local Athletes Take honors at State Summer Games

Scioto County was represented at the Ohio Special Olympics Summer Games in Columbus. The event was Saturday, June 24, and Sunday, June 25, and featured athletes from across the state in track and field competitions at The Ohio State University. Scioto County athletes who competed were: Jerry Coyle, John Geyer, Tammy Mitchell, Jacob Nele, and Johnny Royalty.

GOLD: Softball Throw, Division 134

5th Place: 100m Dash, Division 122

 

JOHN GEYER

GOLD: Softball Throw, Division 120

BRONZE: 50m Dash, Division 35

 

TAMMY MITCHELL

SILVER: 100m Walk, Division 1

BRONZE: Softball Throw, Division 141

 

JACOB NELE

BRONZE: 30m Wheelchair Slalom

SILVER: 25m Wheelchair Race

 

JOHNNY ROYALTY

GOLD: 200m Dash, Division 23
