SSAs are expected to work 1:1 with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, coordinate services and supports, assist with development and revision of plans and budgets, and be an advocate. Follow the link for more details.

The County Board
Open positions for the SCDD are listed above.  The application is available for download to the right.  Applications may be hand-delivered to the 'Main Entrance' of Vern Riffe School, mailed, or faxed to the HR Office.  Fax: 740-354-5852. Email: [email protected]  Completed applications are accepted year-round, but hiring is done on an as-needed basis.
 
Private Providers
In-home service providers are credentialed by the State of Ohio. The County Board provides limited guidance for people pursuing or maintaining provider credentials. Call the Intake Department for more information at 740-353-8448, or make an appointment to visit Intake at The Carousel Center, 1112 Gallia St., Portsmouth.
